title: Marina Run Half Marathon and Safari Zoo Run 2014
Marina Run was held just 1 day after valentines' day this year, on the 15th February 2014. It was my first half marathon and I totally did not do training prior the event. The longest and further run I did was 10km with JJ maybe say 1 month before the run.
It was really tough. Probably because of the weight gained during the chinese new year period which made it even tougher. lol. I had leg and toe cramps every now and then throughout the run and had no choice but to stop. To made it worst, my menses came straight smacking on that day. =.=" The run wasn't well organised as I thought it would be. There was insufficient water from 17km onwards. And I was dead thirsty till I reach the finishing point when after that only a small cup of water was given at the end of the race.To the extent at one water mark, there were not enough cups. How could that have happened.
So being hungry, thirsty and very tired, my legs were sored to the maximum but it was really a mind over body challenge and I have to complete it no matter wad. With heavy legs and a heavy head, I dragged myself to the finishing point. It was my first half marathon I really took such a long time. 3 hours 10 mins. This weekend would be a 2XU compression run and I am targeting to try and finish it in 3 hours or less. wish me luck.
my finisher medal - and I am very proud of myself for being able to finish something I thought I would not be able to do so. It was an accomplishment unlocked.
The next day, was Safari Zoo run. It was a 6km fun run with my girls, my sister, so we totally have alot of fun at the zoo. it was also the first time I walked a "marathon". Nevertheless, it was a free visit to the zoo and everyone gained something at least at the end of the day.
After the 2XU run this sunday, I am letting my legs rest before I fly off to korea in April and will start my run back again in May - Sundown marathon . I am so excited and I really waited long enough for this trip. I will be away for a good 8 days. And also looking forward to Bali in July which has been pre-booked already and Hongkong in October for my wedding photoshoot. This is truly an exciting year and i look forward to every forthcoming month.

title: ......
I am writing this entry at 144am with a heavy heart. Mom came out of her shower shaking and sobbing over her lost hair. We were all shocked and could see that her hair was thinning very badly -she is almost balding. We went to the toilet as instructed by her and was really horrified to see the whole chunk of dropped hair by the sink.. my heart really sank.
I am not a person very good with words so I could only hold my tears and sat beside her. It was very difficult for me to tell her that this is only temporary and by april her hair will start growing again. And there are people out there who loses their limbs and hands which is a forever thing. I couldnt tell her all these becos I know I wil end up crying which will make things even worst.
It pains me to see her go thru all these -needles that causes blue black on her arms and hands after every chemo sessions and when her hair starts to falls off bit by bit. I wish to tell her to shave it all off so that she wouldnt feel so upset every other day when her hair falls.
Probably no one will understand all these except for her. But mom we have to tell you that we rather you lose all hair then we lose you in our life.. is 3 months of temporary torture physically and emotionally and you will recover. We are fighting this with you and will always be by you. Jia you mom, ur our hero and the love of our lives.

title: My mum, the cancer warrior
And as everyone would have known, my mum's cancer has relapsed. We were told the bad news on tuesday and gradually accepting the fact that mum is gonna fight with it once again.
Be it at stage 4 or any other stages, mum, you are our warrior, xena in our heart. You have battled cancer twice, been through 2 times of chemo, I am sure this 3rd time would be a no kick to you. You are the strongest woman in the universe and I am sure this bad cancer relapse would be just a minor setback in your life.
This time as it may, you will lose all your hair but I am sure you will still look good and tough and remain a "no hair" beauty. We will buy you wigs and lots of pretty hats to walk you through this "hairless" period. Once this chemo is over, be assure that youy hair will grow back and you will look better and healthier than before.
Mum, you have always been very very strong. Even stronger than anyone of us here in terms of emotions and physical health. You have all our support. You have 3 beautiful kids who will walk with you thru this painful journey. We will not give up on you so you must not admit defeat either. We will defeat this cancer monster together, as a family.
I have heard of stage 4 cancer patients who survived the ordeal and some who managed to pull a long battle, ie. 3 yrs - 5 years. I am sure you will be able to see me get married next march or even better to see your first grandchildren born. We are supposed to walk down the aisle together and this would not be complete if there is no you becos you are the most important person in my life.
Mum, stay strong, fight it with all your will power. We are with you, always and forever. Don't forget we are going to hongkong this october for your favourite goose and to see me in my wedding gown. For now, control and bear with it. Eat heathy, drink healthy and stay healthy.
For you know,
We will always always love you.

title: A meaningful 2013 - last entry
My last entry of 2013, and I surely wonder if anyone is still reading. 2013 has been really good. I thank and each and every individual who has been part of my life to make it better and stronger. Be it my friends, my family and YLwho is now my fiance. oh gross! Luff out loud.
I have travelled 4 times this year. This year a little further away to Macau/Hk and to the lovely Taiwan.
In March, I went to macau and hongkong with yelong's and his entire family including his grandma and aunties. We stayed at the magnificent 'The Venetian' for 4 nights on the account of his aunt. It was a lovely trip whereby I am my relationship between his family grew even stronger.
In May, We brought mom to taiwan - Taichung and Taipei for a week. Im so glad mom joined me for this trip after his recovery from cancer last year. She enjoyed Taiwan the most compared to yl and myself and also my chance to spend more time with her as much as I could. Love you mom.
This is us at jiufen
and along the streets at the night markets.
Shi fen - release tian ming deng.
And in August, during the national day long weekend, I went to KL with Stacy, YL, my cousin zainan, Jingjie and Claudine for a short 3 days 2 nights. We stayed at the luxurious ritz carlton again. As usual Stacy and I decided to Squeeze into the bathtub together again to have our bubble bath. LOL
our trip was spent doing really nothing and we spent alot of days massaging.
Nevertheless good to have a once a year trip with friends.
and my last trip of the year , a very special trip which I will always remember for life. The intial plan was to fly over to spend the birthday oversea for the man. But he had all the activities all planned well for me. My sis had us upgraded to a junior suite at Le Mereidian Phuket. The room was so good until we spent alot of time in there. The hotel had their own private beach so everything was very "on our own" and we avoided the touristy Patong beach
I made reservation the The 9th Storey Phuket for Yelong's bday dinner.
Nice cosy little place looking over the whole of patong as there are very few high rise building there itself.
And what made it special was .......
He went down on one knees. He had it all set up all arranged and to be honest,
I am very touched. Thank you for your effort my dear and looking forward to the next 1 yr of wedding preparation before we tie the knot in march 2015.
And oh,
did I say I managed to patronise "The Ocean Restuarant - Cat Cora" for my birthday this year.
Hilariously expensive but go for the view. Die hard romantic place.
And my craze for marathon began in my first run - Sundown 2013 10km. I grew and found my love for running long distance.
and running with my best buddy - 15km Run by the Bay
Shape run in october - 10km
Run for Hope Marathon -10km
and my last run of the year - Illumi Party Run 5km
I spent lots of 50s joining a run and everyone always comment that I am crazi. haha. I have taken up more challenge in 2014. I signed up for half marathons in feb 15- Marina Run and March 2 - 2XU compression run. Let see if i can unlock the mental challenge. But no regrets becos everytime when I finish a run, i feel totally good is like an accomplishment unlocked.
Oh I have to mention, I striked"4d" in february this year with my best buddy again. We happened to saw the same car number plate and decided to buy. Consolation price but better than nothing.
My dog is 10 years old this year. I wish I could do more for her and always thankful that we have her around in our life. We love you always and please stay healthy for the next few more years you have with us baby. I love you forever fluffy.
Dad turned 60 this year and Grandma at 78.
So happy to see our family is expanding. More and more every year and welcoming another nephew next year May
and my last pic of the year - My home. We have signed our lease in february this year and I am definitely looking forward to our new stay. It is building very slowly but I will wait patiently for it and for us to start a happy family there together.
And ending my last entry with an early christmas greetings and new year wishes. To all loyal readers, May your 2014 be a splendid new year and if 2013 isnt good enough, 2014 will definitely be better.
And for now till 2015, - Be prepared with lots of wedding preparation post from me. haha.
Love you guys.

Hi People,
In any case if you think that I disappeared from blogger, not yet. But I know no one bothers to read and keep track of what's going on anymore given that there is instalgram and facebook around.
I have nothing much to talk bout. Life has been the same. Work, home, weekend I catch up with my sleep and soon to realise is sunday night and monster monday is back again. Is already the mid of september, and I have a good news to share.
Yelong and I met fengshui master Tong last week. He did an analysis on both our "ba zi" and from there we managed to 'calculate' our wedding date. So....save the date everyone, is on 7 March 2015, saturday.
Is abit early given now is only 2013. But is only 3 more months to the end of the year and we are advised to book our wedding banquet by christmas this year to secure the date and the hotel preferably of my choice.
We have been emailing some hotels and meeting one next week to know about further details as planned. Sherry and I have been discussing and sharing information on what we have ( me - banquet pricing and menu) and her (wedding package - photoshoots, wedding packages, gowns, photographer). I am glad a close friend is having the same interest in me and I will not be researching on them alone. Guys on the general side, would not bother so much about wedding details. okie, to give yelong some credit, sometimes he will be the one emailing and enquiring about wedding packages. LOL. So i am somehow glad that I am not the only one going through this alone.
Given that if I book my banquet by this year, I will be busy hunting for wedding packages, gown fitting, pre wedding photoshoot, arranging with emcees ( we decided to engage one), justice of peace, pin li and the most important of all, to lose weight! And oh ya, I forgot, we're still going to korea in April and I still have not plan anything yet.
So good luck to me...
And .. lastly what is a good wedding without a good proposal baby? Work hard on it.. You dont have much time left. hahah.

Taiwan had been a joyful trip. I am glad I brought mum along for this trip this time. Not becos I never ever bring her along for all my holidays, I am glad we are able to spend more time together and as well as bringing her for this trip after her recovery from her illness.
These are the things that I did there...
Taipei-
Shopped at Zhong Xiao Dong Lu - where all the higher class of shirts, street wear, label wears are. Very nice place to shop at, but prices are generally steeper and more expensive.
Visited Hello Kitty Cafe - the one place I had to visit when i visit taipei. Such a cute and lovely place. But there was a time period of only 1.5 hours there and every patroniser had to spend a minimal of TWD 300 which is equivalent to S$13 if we wanna have tea there.
We went to Dam Shui old street and visited fisherman wharf and lovers bridge.
Visited Rao He Nightmarket.
Visited Wu Fen Pu for more shopping!
Went up to Taipei 101 - observatory Tower
And dine in the famous must try in taipei Ding Tai Feng with 2 michelin stars.
Visited longshan temple on vesak day, under mum's persistent request.
Tried the famous ah zhong mian xian - not anything fanciful and I think other shops along the street sells better mian xian than them.
Went to Shi Fen to release kong meng deng when it was raining like mad.
Visited Jiu Fen - the must go destination for all tourists.
Visitied Shi Lin night market,
and how to miss out the "must eat" Lu rou fan.
And I have to introduce you this place where I stayed. It is a service apartment with 2 joined bedrooms, a hall, a kitchen, a dining hall and a share toliet.
Iservice apartment is wonderful and i mean really wonderfil.
The location is superb in the sense that I am situated at the interchange. So the HSR Station, Raiway station, MRT station and bus stations are all just right above me.
I dont have to change train apart from moving from blue to red line. The hotel was good, amenties such as toothbrush , combs and towel were changed daily.
oh and I visited alot of cute cafe on the way in taipei. This is a fish tank cafe where customers sits on swings.
Xi Men Ding- where the crowds never die.
oh this is the MRT tickets - our known ezy link cards. Cant Spore invent something like this. So small and handy instead of big unsightly cards;
Taizhong -
It was raining every single day in taizhong and it was such a hassle carring umbrellas everywhere we go so we sought to the idea of wearing raincoats.Even wearing rain coats was a chore because shops do not allow you to patronise them when you are in raincoat or rainboots! zzz.
We had lunch at this oldest theme restaurant in taizhong. Very worth going. I personally enjoy this place very much. Check out all the vintage stuffs which you will not be able to find them in singapore anymore.
At Feng Jia night market
oh we also visited mushroom farm in taizhong where we settled for hotpot for lunch there.

Cool and nice place whereby you have your lunch up in the mountain - with a view. Reminds me of bali ya?!
Visited Cingjing's most expensive Minsu - A man made castle overlooking the mountain. and the driver we engaged for the day alighted us for phototaking.

such a beautiful place.
Last but not least, cingjing farm. The place I have been wanting to visit upon reading alot of reviews and blog. It took 2 hours to reach the destination form taizhong.
and it was really cold.
and with this, I end my taiwan vacation post. Check out the rest of the pictures in facebook.
